RELIGIOUS EDUCATION AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM: Preparing children for the Sacraments

Our parish runs an extensive after school Religious Education Program for those children in years 1 to 6 that are not attending Catholic Schools. The program also prepares children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. Classes run each Wednesday during the school term starting at 4pm. RCIA: The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: Preparing adults to enter the Catholic faith.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) allows people to explore the faith of the Catholic Church. It offers a way to grow in the knowledge of Christ and the Catholic faith, in company with others on a similar journey. The RCIA takes place within a parish community so you are able to share in the life of the Church, expressed via a local parish. Please contact Anne Kennedy on 0426 561 328 for more information.

FUNERALS

A funeral is a ceremony for celebrating, respecting, sanctifying, or remembering the life of a person who has passed. At Sacred Heart we aim to provide a funeral service with respect, care and understanding.  For more information please contact our office on 08 9459 4459.

MEMORIAL GARDEN

Our church currently has four Memorial Garden blocks which provide a resting place for the interment of ashes. Due to the limited availability, plots are only available for parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish Thornlie.
